Is the difference between Slashing and Blunt only seen in PvE? Or does it have some effect in PvP as well? I did a search and didn't find this information.

I'm attempting to determine which weapon to pick, as this character will probably be my main warrior in PvE as well.

if i remember correctly, the difference lies in armours, not weapons, in that some take more damage from slashing and some take more from blunt damage. However, im no expert on warrior mechanics so don't trust me 100%

All of the armor listed only shows physical or elemental protection. So, as it seems to me, there is no difference in PvP between the type of damage a weapon has (unless piercing). Anyway, straight-up damage comparisons can then be done between the weapons.

Does anyone have a feeling for if the spike damage of the hammer makes up for the lack of a shield? I'll check the DPS writeup again, but what I am concerned about is spike damage anyway. It may be reasonable to get 2 attacks off with a sword or axe war before the monk reacts, but not 2 with a hammer I don't think.
